The Classical Sporthorse Stud

El Domino Classique
El Domino Classique is Australasia's only Haute Ecole Friesian.
CSS was developed by the Kaye family, originally from the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand a decade ago, and is presently based in the Swan Valley of Perth, Western Australia.

Dressage horses are the main component of our breeding program particularly horses which are capable in conformation, temperament and movement for the high school work of the Haute Ecole.

With conformation in mind we have used only horses that have immense spring in the joints, and necks that are high set and placed well into the base of the trunk. This gives all of our horses a "natural" horizontal balance which gives them a more even weight distribution, so subsequently they are not on the forehand.

The Friesian horse has been the main component of our breeding program. From this breed we are able to get our necks high set and movement that is cadenced and forward. We use our Fnesian stallion 'El Domino Classique' as the studs sire- He is the only Friesian horse trained in the Haute Ecole in the Southern Hemisphere and he gives all of his progeny his beautiful phenotype, superior cadenced movement and a willingness to learn that is unequalled. El Domino Classique does not stand at public stud, and is only used in our selective breeding program. He is shown at public displays performing his high school movements and in the past 4 years he has been shown to in excess of 25,000 people including Royalty.

Owned by movie horse trainer "Evanna".
The CSS has caught the attention of many of the world's elite trainers who are looking for that 'special' horse to fulfil their requirements. The world renowned movie horse trainer "Evanna" is the proud owner of two of our Friesian Warmblood horses and she has proven their immense versatility by using the older of the two in television work and as her prize trick horse. The ability for which this horse can absorb her training has greatly impressed Evanna and she has gone on to achieve championships in ridden and led events as well as 'State Champion" Victorian Three Phase Dnving and many wins at the Sydney Royal Show including the coveted 'Private Drive'. Presently Evanna is preparing both of the CSS horses for international competition in driving.

This is only the beginning of the success of these noble animals. All CSS horses shown have not been unplaced in any discipline they have been introduced to. Our latest "star" has been purchased for her owner to make the short list for the 2004 Olympics.

The CSS only believes in using the finest foundation stock for its breeding program. Each of our horses must possess superior conformation, willing natures and eye catching movement. To keep to these requirements has meant that we are only producing a very small number of horses each year, and these range from the purebred Fnesian to Fnesian derivatives of Irish Thoroughbred and Andalusian heritage. We also believe strongly in proving the performance capabilities of our foundation stock before breeding commences.

Transport is available to New Zealand.
