Wait until you hear me sing. I sing in the car and Bella tells me to be quiet. She says "its yucky mummy". No taste that child.

Bugger. Put a frozen chicken in the crockpot this morning, and it kinda slipped out of the bag as I was coercing it into the crockpot. Had a yummy dinner, then took out the crock dish to wash it - and there was some liquid in the electric canister. Seems I have cracked my crock! :(

She was really good. She wasn't thrilled and still managed to get some horse poo (grrr) but not enough to really affect her. She did feel that thighs would be the best thing to rub on to remove it (ouch). But she managed to have a drink and was really pretty good about it. It is PERFECT (well if I sew some mesh into the bottom to stop that tiny bit of poo).

She REALLY does!!! It was really funny (eventually, once I stopped shouting at her) watching her smooshing it all around trying to get some. I think if I left her long enough she would have harrowed the paddock. Can I buy it off you? Or do you need it back?

Can i borrow that? our 1 year old Berie boys has just discovered how much fun it is to chase and bite sheep. Thank god we are on our family farm or else he probably would have been shot my now. Hes been here since he was a puppy but never enjoy chasing sheep until now. Its really mean and we hate using it but weve had the electric collar on him but his neck and fur is so think he doesnt really feel it.

I think Ellie will be needing it every day for her dog but you can buy them on trademe if you search under dog muzzle.

Pop I don't think and electric collar is mean so long as it is used to correct a problem and biting sheep is a major really! try parting the hair so the prongs sit on the skin

Most electric collars can have longer probes screwed in for long haired dogs. Im going to start some intensive stock proofing on our pound puppy

  Puddleduck     10:03PM    03-Sep-10
Yep not mean if you are teaching skills that will keep them alive! Mauled sheep is not nice for anyone, we've had a few and I absolutely loathe going round the neighbours to let everyone know it could be their dog.

Went out to see my girl tonight, and she wasn't happy putting all her weight on her Off Fore leg, there seams to be a bit of heat in the fetlock. Do you think she could have sprained/strained it if she had been being silly in paddock? If so what if anything can I do? Don't have stables or yard that I can put her in.

Ditto Bridget. Does she live in a wet paddock? Are there cracks in her hooves where mud/germs can get in?

My dungy old Subaru that I had given to me holds five bales of hay, nearly tried for six. Love using the old hack wagon to go the paddock, no worries about messing up hubbys Ute with my smelly horse gear.

Well the storm hit good and hard about 5:30 in Wellington, we left work and the motorway looked like it had been snowing, the hail was full on. It was sleeting at the top of the Rimutaka's about 6:15 and all the road crews were on standby. Horrific here now at home but very proud of my young girl as she stood like a rock (with the help of some hay and Uncle Frank) while I chucked a cover on her. Glad to be inside now - what is it like further south??

  Lynne   Glenavy  8:07PM    03-Sep-10
So far only rain, no wind, further inland under Hunters friends had hail so pretty mixed. Bitterly cold regardless.

WEll I hope alot of you emailed re the Amp award, I am sure he got a load of them. I would not usually get inolved in something like this but I feel extremely strongly about this - it is absolutely farcical that somebody who has treated an animal so appallingly recieve money to help her in a professional career dependant on horses. Having followed AJ's appalling condition when uplifted from this person and since his recovery, I could not stand by and ignore. I forwarded all the links from FB and newspaper articles to JohnVisser, and just received a reply saying the award is now being investigated - for AJ's sake I am very glad. People seem to get away with appalling abuse and neglect in NZ - everycase not ignored helps those unfortuntatly to come :(
